Sort Lines
Paste a list and sort it alphabetically, numerically, or randomly.
Correct numeric order
Numeric order compares each line's actual value, not its text — so "9" comes before "10" (with plain alphabetical order, "10" would come before "9" because "1" is less than "9" character by character). Lines with no number are always placed last.
Privacy
The sorting happens in your browser. The text is never sent to Numelto.
Alphabetical vs. numeric
If your list has duplicates, remove them before sorting.
| List | Alphabetical order | Numeric order |
|---|---|---|
| 2, 10, 1 | 1, 10, 2 | 1, 2, 10 |
| Item 20, Item 3 | Item 20, Item 3 | Item 3, Item 20 |
Sorting numbers as numbers, not as text
Plain alphabetical order places "10" before "2" because it compares character by character; if your lines start with numbers, turn on numeric order so "2" comes before "10", as you'd expect when sorting quantities.
Reversing the final order
Besides sorting A to Z or low to high, you can reverse the result with one click to get the opposite order, without having to paste the text again or manually change each line.
