Pool Chlorine Calculator

Estimate how much granular chlorine your pool needs, both for regular maintenance and for a shock treatment after heavy use or green water.

How is it calculated?

Rough dose: maintenance ≈ 3 g of chlorine per m³ of water; shock treatment ≈ 10 g per m³. These figures are a general guide for granular chlorine (sodium dichloroisocyanurate) — the exact concentration depends on the product, so always follow the label instructions.

Examples

  • 48 m³ pool, maintenance treatment

You need about 144 g of chlorine.

  • 21.6 m³ pool, shock treatment

You need about 216 g of chlorine.

Maintenance and shock treatment

These are doses for standard granular chlorine; always follow the product label and never mix chemical products. Calculate the volume with the pool volume calculator and the filtration hours.
