Spain Final Paycheck Calculator (Finiquito)
Spain · MoneyEstimate the prorated unused vacation and pending extra payments owed when an employment contract in Spain ends (the finiquito, Spain's final paycheck). It's an approximation of the two most common finiquito items, not a full legal calculation.
How is it calculated?
Pending vacation pay = (gross monthly salary ÷ 30) × unused vacation days. Pending extra payments = (gross monthly salary × extra payments per year ÷ 365) × days worked since the last extra payment. The estimated finiquito is the sum of both items.
Examples
1,500/month, 2 extra payments, 180 days since the last one, 10 vacation days
Estimated finiquito: 1,979.45 (500 in vacation + 1,479.45 in extra payments).
2,000/month, 2 extra payments, 90 days since the last one, 5 vacation days
Estimated finiquito: 1,319.63 (333.33 in vacation + 986.30 in extra payments).
What the finiquito includes and what it doesn't
The finiquito settles what the company owes you when the contract ends: pending salary, unused vacation, and the prorated share of extra payments. Layoff compensation is a separate concept.
| Item | Does this calculator estimate it? |
|---|---|
| Unused vacation | Yes: monthly salary ÷ 30 per pending day |
| Pending extra payments | Yes: the prorated share since your last one |
| Salary for days worked in the last month | No: add it yourself |
| Layoff compensation | No: depends on the type of dismissal |
