Days Between Dates Calculator
Calculate how many days, weeks, months and years there are between two dates, with a real calendar breakdown (never an approximate division by 30 or 365). Useful for planning trips, counting deadlines, or knowing how long is left until an event.
How is it calculated?
Total days = absolute value of (end date − start date), in full days — the order of the dates doesn't matter. The breakdown into full weeks + leftover days and into years + months + days uses real calendar arithmetic (same as the age calculator): it never divides days by 7, 30 or 365, since that gives wrong results in leap years and with months of different lengths.
Examples
From January 1 to January 31, 2026
There are 30 days (4 weeks and 2 days) between those dates.
From March 1 to March 10, 2026
There are 9 days (1 week and 2 days) between those dates.
From March 10, 2015 to October 7, 2026
11 years, 6 months and 27 days of difference.
How days between two dates are counted
The calculator subtracts the two dates: from the 1st to the 2nd of a month there's a 1-day difference. If you need to count the start or end day too, add 1.
For legal or contractual deadlines, always check how the applicable rule defines the count.
| You need | What to do |
|---|---|
