Mexico Vacation and Vacation Premium Calculator
Mexico · EmploymentCalculate how many vacation days you're owed based on your seniority (current Federal Labor Law table), how much that vacation is worth in pesos, and how much vacation premium you're owed.
How is it calculated?
The vacation days you're owed depend on your current year of service, per the current Federal Labor Law table: 12 days in year 1, 14 in year 2, 16 in year 3, 18 in year 4, 20 in year 5, 22 from year 6 to 10, 24 from year 11 to 15, 26 from year 16 to 20, and +2 more days for each additional 5-year block of seniority. Payment for those days is daily salary × pending days. The vacation premium is an additional percentage on top of that pay — a minimum of 25% by law (Article 80 of the LFT), though your company can give more.
Examples
3 full years, no vacation taken, daily salary of 500
You're owed 18 vacation days; total with vacation premium: 11,250.00.
6 months of seniority, 4 days already taken, monthly salary of 18,000
8 vacation days are still pending; total with vacation premium: 5,917.81.
Federal Labor Law vacation table
Since 2023 (the "dignified vacation" reform), you get 12 days in the first year of service and 2 more each year up to 20 in the fifth. After that, it rises by 2 days for each five-year block.

| 2nd | 14 |
| 3rd | 16 |
| 4th | 18 |
| 5th | 20 |
| 6th to 10th | 22 |
| 11th to 15th | 24 |
| 16th to 20th | 26 |
| 21st to 25th | 28 |
| 26th to 30th | 30 |
How much your time off and vacation premium are worth
Vacation days are paid at your daily salary. The vacation premium is an additional amount of at least 25% on top of that pay. With a daily salary of 500 and three full years, you're owed 18 days, that is 9,000.00 plus 2,250.00 in premium: 11,250.00 in total. Illustrative figures.
Pending vacation when you leave the job
If you end the employment relationship, the vacation you didn't take and its premium go into your final settlement. The aguinaldo is also paid proportionally.
