Ecuador Profit-Sharing Calculator
Ecuador · EmploymentCalculate your profit-sharing in Ecuador: 15% of the company's net profit, split 10% in proportion to days worked and 5% based on family dependents. Works as a simulator if you know — or ask your company for — the company-wide figures.
How is it calculated?
The employer allocates 15% of net profit to its workers (Article 97 of the Labor Code). The 10% is distributed among all workers in proportion to days worked: the 10% share = (10% of profit × your days worked) ÷ days worked by all workers. The 5% is distributed in proportion to family dependents (spouse or domestic partner, children under 18, and children with disabilities of any age): Factor A = your days worked × your number of dependents; Factor B = the sum of Factor A for all workers; the 5% share = (5% of profit × Factor A) ÷ Factor B. Total = the 10% share + the 5% share. What a worker receives is capped at 24 unified basic salaries (11,568 with the 2026 SBU). To calculate it you need company-wide data that only the company knows: net profit, total days worked, and Factor B. This calculator is a simulator; the actual amount is determined by the employer in its profit-sharing settlement.
Examples
Profit of 100,000, you with 360 days and 2 dependents; company with 36,000 days and a Factor B of 50,000
Distributable 15,000. 10% share: 100. Factor A = 720; 5% share: 72. Total: 172.
How the 15% profit-sharing is distributed
10% is distributed among all workers based on days worked, and 5% based on family dependents. What you receive can't exceed 24 unified basic salaries.
With a net profit of 100,000, 360 days worked out of a total of 36,000, and 2 dependents (Factor B of 50,000): 10% share 100, 5% share 72, total 172. Figures are illustrative. Dependents are the spouse or domestic partner, children under 18, and children with disabilities of any age.
To know what to ask your company for: the net profit, the total days worked, and Factor B. Profit-sharing isn't included in the base for the thirteenth-month bonus and is paid separately from your net salary.
| Share | Distribution criterion |
|---|---|
| 10% | Your days worked ÷ days worked by everyone |
| 5% | Factor A (your days × your dependents) ÷ Factor B (sum of the company's Factor A values) |
