Convert PDF to Word (.docx)
Convert a PDF into a real, editable Word document (.docx), right in your browser — it automatically detects whether the PDF has real text, is scanned, or mixes both, and runs text recognition (OCR) only where it's needed.
What it keeps, and what it doesn't
It keeps the text, organized into paragraphs, with a page break for each page of the original PDF.
- It doesn't keep the exact layout: columns, tables, images, or font styles from the original PDF aren't reproduced.
- Grouping text into paragraphs is an approximation based on text position — on very visual layouts (flyers, infographics), the result may need manual touch-ups.
- It's the best option when what you need is the TEXT in an editable document, not an exact visual replica.
Text, scanned, or mixed PDFs
The tool analyzes each page separately before generating the Word document:
| PDF type | What the tool does |
|---|---|
| Real text | Extracts the text directly — fast, no OCR needed |
| Scanned (image) | Runs text recognition (OCR) on every page |
| Mixed | Extracts real text where it exists, and runs OCR only on the pages that need it |
Privacy
The PDF is processed in your browser. It's never sent to Numelto or to any external service. If OCR is needed, the recognition engine (tesseract.js) may download its language data the first time (a few MB), but recognition still happens in your browser, not on a server.
