Extract Text from PDF
Upload a PDF and extract its text to copy it or download it as TXT.
What it does
Reads the real, selectable text a PDF contains and shows it to you ready to copy or download.
Scanned PDFs
If the PDF is a scanned image (a photo or a scan with no text layer), it won't have any text to extract — this tool doesn't do optical character recognition (OCR) yet.
Privacy
Text is extracted with pdf.js, running in your browser. The document is never uploaded to Numelto.
When there's no text to extract
Scanned PDFs are images: they have no selectable text and this tool doesn't do OCR. If your goal is to have each page as an image, use PDF to image; to remove pages before extracting, use delete pages.
What to do if the text comes out jumbled
In PDFs with columns, tables, or complex layouts, the extracted text can come out in a different order than what you see visually, because it follows the file's internal order, not the on-screen layout. Review the result before using it in another document.
