Password & Passphrase Generator
Generate random passwords with the length and character types you choose, or a memorable multi-word passphrase, using the browser's crypto API. Created on your device, never sent anywhere.
How the randomness is generated
Every character is picked with crypto.getRandomValues, the browser's own cryptographically secure random number API — not Math.random(), which is meant for games and animations, not for anything that needs to be truly unpredictable.
What the strength label means
It's a rough estimate based on entropy (length × character variety), not a security guarantee: no tool can promise a password is "impossible to guess". The more character types you turn on and the longer it is, the higher the entropy.
General recommendations
Beyond generating it randomly, a few practices make a real difference for security:
- Use a different password for every important service.
- Longer is better: length matters more than symbol variety.
- Store your passwords in a password manager, not an unencrypted document.
- Change it immediately if you suspect a service has had a data breach.
