Markdown Table Generator

Paste CSV data, or a selection copied straight from Excel or Google Sheets, and generate a Markdown table ready to paste into a README, an issue, or any Markdown document.

Local processing: your data is processed in your browser and never sent to Numelto or any external service.

Paste or upload CSV or TSV data to generate the table.

Pasting from Excel or Google Sheets

If you copy a cell selection directly from Excel or Google Sheets and paste it into the text box, it's automatically detected as tab-separated data (TSV) — no need to export to CSV first.

Column alignment

Markdown lets you mark each column as left, center, or right aligned, using colons in the separator row (:--- , :---: , ---:). By default (no alignment set) most renderers still show it left-aligned anyway.

Cells with a | character or line breaks

A pipe character (|) inside a cell would break the table, so it's automatically escaped as \|. A line break inside a cell (for example, from a CSV with a quoted multi-line field) is converted to <br>, since Markdown doesn't support real line breaks inside a table cell.
