CSV to JSON Converter
Paste a CSV or upload a CSV/Excel file and convert it to JSON: each row becomes an object, using the header row as each property's name.
How the conversion works
The first row is treated as the header and defines each property's name; every following row becomes a {header: value} object, and the final result is an array with all those objects, in the same order as the original file.
Excel (XLS/XLSX) also works
If your file is an Excel workbook with several sheets, you can pick which one to convert before generating the JSON — it reuses the same Excel reader as Numelto's other data tools.
Expected CSV format
A comma-separated CSV is expected, with or without quoted fields (commas or line breaks inside a field work fine if it's wrapped in double quotes) — the same format used by Numelto's other CSV tools.
For the reverse conversion (JSON → CSV), use JSON to CSV; to format the resulting JSON, JSON Formatter.
