Regex mode
If you turn on "regular expression", the search field is interpreted as a JavaScript regex — you can use capture groups like $1, $2 in the replacement. If the regex isn't valid, a clear notice is shown without breaking the tool.
Privacy
The find and replace happens in your browser. The text is never sent to Numelto.

A few common patterns to get started with — regex syntax is the same JavaScript uses everywhere else.

Finding with regular expressions
Besides a literal text search, you can turn on regex mode for more flexible patterns (replacing any phone number or any date in a specific format, for example) without having to write out every variant by hand.
Replacing regardless of case
By default the search is case-sensitive; you can turn off that distinction if you want "Hello" and "hello" to be treated as the same match, useful when cleaning up text copied from sources with irregular formatting.
