Chile Overtime Calculator
Chile · EmploymentCalculate the value of your ordinary hour and your overtime hours in Chile: the minimum legal premium is 50% on top of the agreed salary for the ordinary workweek, which since April 26, 2026 has a maximum of 42 weekly hours.
How is it calculated?
Ordinary hourly rate = monthly salary ÷ 30 × 7 ÷ agreed weekly hours (the Labor Directorate's criterion). Overtime hourly rate = ordinary hourly rate × (1 + premium). The minimum legal premium is 50%; you can enter a higher one if your contract or collective agreement sets it. Total = overtime hourly rate × overtime hours worked. The maximum ordinary workweek is 42 weekly hours since April 26, 2026 (44 hours since April 26, 2024; it will drop to 40 hours in 2028). If your agreed salary is below the monthly minimum wage (553,553 since May 1, 2026, prorated to your shift), the calculator uses the minimum wage as the base. No additional legal premium applies for working at night, on Sunday, or on a holiday: the overtime minimum stays at 50%, unless a higher rate is agreed.
