Slug Generator for URLs
Turn a title or any text into a clean URL slug: no accents, lowercase, with the separator you choose.
What a slug is
It's the part of a URL that identifies a specific page in a readable way — for example, in numelto.com/en/tools/slug-generator, "slug-generator" is the slug. A good slug is short, lowercase, with no accents or special characters, and words separated by hyphens.
Why strip accents and special characters
Even though modern URLs technically support accents and Unicode, many systems (CMSes, static site generators, links shared on social media) still escape them in an unreadable way — a slug with no accents or symbols is compatible everywhere and easier to read and share as-is.
Hyphen or underscore
Google treats the hyphen (-) as a word separator when indexing a URL, but does NOT treat the underscore (_) the same way — that's why the hyphen is the recommended convention for SEO, even though the underscore is still valid and common in filenames or variable names.
