How to use the random team generator
Type each participant on its own line, choose whether to fix the number of teams or the number of people per team, and enter the number. Teams are formed by shuffling everyone first and splitting them afterward, so every split is fair and unpredictable.
Number of teams vs. people per team
If you fix the number of teams, the split is as balanced as possible between them (for example, 9 people into 2 teams gives 5 and 4). If you fix people per team, teams fill up to that exact size and the last one may be incomplete if the total isn't an exact multiple.
