Clean Word HTML
Paste content copied from Word and get clean HTML, without the proprietary Microsoft Office markup ("Mso" classes, inline styles, conditional comments) it normally drags along.
What it actually does
When you copy text from Word and paste it on the web, the browser receives real HTML, but loaded with markup that only makes sense inside Word: huge <style> blocks with "MsoNormal" classes, conditional comments <!--[if mso]-->, mso-* attributes on every style. This tool detects and removes that noise, keeping the actual content.
What's kept and what's removed
The rule is simple: out goes everything that only makes sense inside Word, in stays everything that's real content.
- Kept: paragraphs, headings, lists, bold, italics, links and reasonable tables.
- Removed: Microsoft Office styles and classes, conditional comments, XML namespaces, redundant attributes.
Important: not a .docx file converter
This first version works on the HTML Word puts on the clipboard when you copy (paste with Ctrl+V directly into the text box) — it doesn't open or convert full .docx files. If that's what you need, this tool doesn't offer it yet.
