Ecuador VAT (IVA) Calculator

Ecuador · Taxes

Calculate VAT (IVA) in Ecuador: add the general 15% rate to a price without VAT, or remove the VAT from a price that already includes it. You can choose a 0% rate or a custom percentage, since not every operation is taxed at 15%.

How is it calculated?

To add VAT to a price without VAT: total = base × (1 + 15 ÷ 100) = base × 1.15. To remove VAT from a price that already includes it: base = total ÷ 1.15 and VAT = total − base. The general VAT rate in Ecuador is 15% in 2026 (the SRI confirmed it remains in effect in Circular NAC-DGECCGC25-00000006 unless a decree changes it). Not every operation is taxed at 15%: some goods and services carry a 0% rate, some operations aren't subject to VAT, and other special treatments apply, including differentiated rates for certain cases. This calculator's presets are 15%, 0%, and custom; the custom percentage is for math calculations or special cases and doesn't change the legal rate. Results are rounded to 2 decimals.

Examples

  • Add 15% VAT to 100

VAT 15 and total with VAT 115.

  • Remove VAT from a price of 115

    Base 100 and VAT 15.

  • Operation with a 0% rate

VAT 0: the total equals the base.

How to add or remove VAT in Ecuador

The general rate is 15%. To add VAT, multiply the base by 1.15; to remove it from a final price, divide by 1.15.

Not everything pays 15%: some goods and services have a 0% rate, and some operations aren't subject to VAT.
