Argentina Overtime Calculator
Argentina · EmploymentCalculate what you're owed for overtime in Argentina: hours at 50% (ordinary days) and at 100% (Saturdays after 1 p.m., Sundays, and holidays). You can enter your hourly rate directly or calculate it from your salary and usual monthly hours.
How is it calculated?
Normal hourly rate = monthly salary ÷ usual monthly hours (or the hourly rate you enter directly). Overtime at 50% = hourly rate × 1.5; overtime at 100% = hourly rate × 2. The 50% premium applies on ordinary days; the 100% premium on Saturdays after 1 p.m., Sundays, and holidays. Each overtime hour is paid in full (the hour plus the premium). There's no single universal divisor: while 200 monthly hours is commonly used for a salaried employee on a 48-hour weekly schedule, collective agreements can set other divisors and rules (for example, 240, or computing by two-week period or daily wage), which is why the calculator lets you choose the monthly hours or enter your hourly rate directly. Under Law 27,802, a time-bank arrangement is allowed by written agreement, a compensation scheme this calculator doesn't compute.
Examples
Salary of 2,000,000 and 200 monthly hours: 4 hours at 50% and 2 at 100%
The hour is worth 10,000: hours at 50% are 60,000 and hours at 100% are 40,000. Total overtime: 100,000.
Known hourly rate of 12,000: 3 hours at 50%
3 hours × 12,000 × 1.5 = 54,000.
When it's paid at 50% and when at 100%
The normal hourly rate is your monthly salary divided by your shift's monthly hours. A common divisor is 200, but your agreement may set a different one, so you can change it or enter your hourly rate directly.
| When you work | Premium | Payment |
|---|---|---|
| Ordinary days | 50% | Hourly rate × 1.5 |
| Saturdays after 1 p.m., Sundays, and holidays | 100% | Hourly rate × 2 |
