Add Hours and Minutes Calculator
Add or subtract hours and minutes from a time of day and get the resulting time, even when the result crosses midnight into the next or previous day.
How is it calculated?
Resulting time = start time + (or −) the hours and minutes given, using 24-hour arithmetic: if the result goes past 23:59 or before 00:00, it's automatically adjusted to the next or previous day.
Examples
Add 2 hours 30 minutes to 23:00
01:30, the next day.
Subtract 2 hours from 00:30
22:30, the previous day.
Use cases
A few common examples:
- Calculate when a shift ends if it starts at a specific time.
- Calculate when something started if it ended at a known time.
- Plan schedules that cross midnight (night shifts, long flights...).
