Number Base Converter
Convert a number between binary, octal, decimal and hexadecimal, in any source/target combination, with a single converter.
How it works
The value you type is interpreted in the source base and recalculated digit by digit in the target base, using arbitrary-precision arithmetic (not JavaScript's regular number type), so it doesn't lose accuracy with large numbers.
The four bases it supports
Each base uses a different set of valid digits:
| Base | Name | Digits used |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | Binary | 0 and 1 |
| 8 | Octal | 0 to 7 |
| 10 | Decimal | 0 to 9 |
| 16 | Hexadecimal | 0 to 9 and A to F |
If your conversion is specifically decimal → binary
This tool covers all 12 possible combinations between the four bases with a single converter, to avoid maintaining a separate page per pair — except decimal → binary, which has its own dedicated page given its own search volume.
