EXIF Viewer & Remover

Upload a photo to view its EXIF metadata (camera, date, GPS location…) and, if you want, download a clean copy without it.

What EXIF metadata is

Most cameras and phones store technical data inside the photo file itself: camera model, date, shot settings, and, if GPS was enabled, the exact location where it was taken.

Why remove it

If you share a photo without stripping its metadata, anyone who downloads it can see where and when it was taken. The clean copy this tool generates drops that information while keeping the correct visual orientation.

Privacy

Reading and removing metadata happens in your browser. The image and its EXIF data are never sent to Numelto or any external service.

When it's worth cleaning a photo

Afterward you can compress it or convert it to another format. Social networks usually strip EXIF data on upload, but not every site does.

  • Before posting on forums, listings, or websites if you don't want to reveal where and when it was taken.
  • When sending photos of your home or of minors.
  • To slightly reduce the file size.
