Crop Image
Upload an image, adjust the crop box with a free or fixed aspect ratio, and download only the part you need.
How to adjust the crop
Drag the box to move it, or its corners to resize it. If you pick a fixed aspect ratio (1:1, 4:3, 16:9, 3:2), the box always keeps that shape while resizing.
Privacy
The crop is drawn with <canvas>, the browser's native API. Your image is never uploaded to Numelto.
Common aspect ratios
After cropping, adjust the size with resize image or the file size with compress image.
| Ratio | Typical use |
|---|---|
| 1:1 | Profile photos and thumbnails |
| 4:3 | Classic photography and presentations |
| 16:9 | Video, covers and screens |
| 3:2 | DSLR photography |
When to use a fixed aspect ratio
Use a fixed aspect ratio (1:1, 4:3, 16:9) when the crop is going somewhere with a specific format, like a square thumbnail or a panoramic cover; use a free ratio when you just want to trim extra edges without matching any standard.
Cropping doesn't reduce image quality
Cropping only removes the areas you don't select; the pixels that remain inside the box keep their original resolution and quality, with no recompression unless you also change the output format.
Output format after cropping
The crop keeps the image's original format (JPG, PNG or WebP); if the image had transparency (PNG or WebP), that transparency is preserved in the cropped area.
