Spain University Admission Grade Calculator
Spain · MathCalculate your Spanish university access grade (NAU) and your admission grade for a specific degree (NAT) from your Bachillerato grade, the PAU/EBAU mandatory phase, and up to two optional-phase subjects.
How is it calculated?
The NAU (University Access Grade) is calculated as 0.6 × average Bachillerato grade + 0.4 × average mandatory PAU/EBAU phase grade, ranging from 0 to 10. If you also sit the optional phase, the NAT (Degree Admission Grade) adds your two best optional-phase subject grades to the NAU, each multiplied by its weight (0, 0.1 or 0.2, set by each university and degree): NAT = NAU + a×M1 + b×M2, with a theoretical maximum of 14 points. This calculator never predicts a specific degree's cutoff grade — that depends on each year's demand for places and is only known at the end of the admission process.
Examples
Mandatory phase only
NAU = 0.6×8 + 0.4×7 = 7.6. With no optional phase, NAT equals NAU.
With two optional-phase subjects
NAU = 7.6. Optional phase = 0.2×9 + 0.1×8 = 2.6. NAT = 7.6 + 2.6 = 10.2.
Comparing against a reference cutoff grade
NAT = 6.4 + 0.7 = 7.1, which exceeds the reference cutoff of 6.5.
Admission grade formulas
| Grade | Formula | Range |
|---|---|---|
| NAU | 0.6 × Bachillerato + 0.4 × mandatory phase | 0 – 10 |
| NAT | NAU + weight₁×M1 + weight₂×M2 | 0 – 14 |
