Colombia Service Bonus (Prima de Servicios) Calculator

Colombia · Employment

Calculate your service bonus (prima de servicios) for June or December in Colombia, or the prorated share if you only worked part of the semester.

January 1 (June bonus) or July 1 (December bonus), or your hire date if later.

June 30 or December 31, or your termination date.

How is it calculated?

Service bonus = base × days worked in the semester ÷ 360. The base is your monthly salary plus the transportation allowance when it applies to you (up to 2 SMLMV). In general terms it equals one month's salary per year, paid in two installments: the first no later than June 30 (January-to-June period) and the second no later than December 20 (July-to-December). If you only worked part of the semester, it's paid proportionally to the days worked, counted on a 360-day basis.

Examples

  • June bonus with a salary of 2,000,000 (allowance included)

Base of 2,249,095 over 180 days: estimated bonus of 1,124,548.

  • December bonus with a salary of 4,000,000
